FAQ

Where & when can I visit the Sea Ranch Chapel?

Open daily from dawn to dusk for visitors.

The chapel and grounds are open except when private events are scheduled.

What are the onsite restrictions?

Parking is limited to 13 designated spaces; no RVs allowed due to space limits. There are no restrooms on site.

Maximum capacity inside the chapel is 20 people, including children, photographers, officiants etc. 


How do private event reservations work?

You can reserve up to 1 year in advance.

Only one private event per day, and it is limited to 2 hours maximum.

To reserve: read/agree to the Chapel Use Policy, fill out the Use Agreement form, submit payment, deposit, and evidence of insurance. Contact The Sea Ranch Association.

What are the fees & deposits for private use?
  • $400 for a 2-hour event reservation
  • $60 monitor fee
  • $100 refundable cleaning/security deposit (refunded if the chapel is left clean & undamaged and vacated on time)
  • Total reservation cost: about $560 for 2 hours.


What are the main rules and restrictions
  • No food or beverages permitted.
  • No signs, balloons, streamers at the entrance from Hwy 1 or on site.
  • No rice, birdseed, confetti, flowers/petals, or similar substances can be cast on chapel grounds.
  • No smoking, candles, incense, or open flame.
  • Pets are not allowed, except guide dogs.
  • Do not move benches.
  • The facility must be left in a clean, undamaged condition. Vacate at the agreed upon time.


What insurance or liability requirements are there?
  • The user must provide General Liability Insurance (or equivalent) covering at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, naming The Sea Ranch Association as Additional Insured.
  • The person(s) making the reservation sign an agreement taking liability for any damages.
